Ahmad Mahmood

About Me

I am an MSc student at ETH Zurich majoring in Machine Intelligence with an intended minor in Theoretical Computer Science. Currently, I am doing my Master’s Thesis at Disney Research Zurich focusing on Image/Video Deblurring and Super Resolution using Diffusion Models.

Previously, I worked as a research intern at INSAIT, where I was supervised by Dr. Danda Paudel and Dr. Luc Van Gool. Additionally, I was a researcher in computer vision, affiliated with the Intelligent Visual Analytics Lab (IVAL) at the Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) where I was supervised by Dr. Salman Khan.

I hold a Bachelor degree in Computer Science from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in Lahore, Pakistan.

Apart from all that, you will probably find me playing chess during my free time ♕.

• [Apr. 2025] Started my Master’s Thesis at Disney Zurich.
• [Sep. 2024] Assisted Dr. Michael Hoffmann in the course Algorithms Lab at ETH Zurich.
• [Apr. 2024] I started my internship as a computer vision researcher at INSAIT under the supervision of Dr. Danda Paudel and Dr. Luc Van Gool
• [Sep. 2023] I started my Masters in Computer Science at ETH Zurich
• [June. 2023] I completed my undergraduate degree in Computer Science. Graduated in the top 10% of my class with Distinction and made it into the Dean’s Honour List.
• [Jan. 2023] Our paper on Boosting Adversarial Transferability Using Dynamic Cues is accepted in the International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR)
• [Sep. 2022] Assisted Dr. Agha Ali Raza in the graduate level course CS 535 (Machine Learning) at LUMS
• [June. 2022] I started working as a student researcher under the supervision of Dr. Ihsan Ayyub Qazi and Dr. Agha Ali Raza. I worked on exploring how the insights of the Central Limit Theorem could be used to achieve robust performance in Federated Learning tasks over non-IID data.
• [Apr. 2022] I started working as a researcher at MBZUAI. I was supervised by Dr. Salman Khan, working on the Adversarial Transferability from Image-to-Video models.
• [June. 2021] I became the Vice-President Events of the LUMS Students Mathematics Society (LSMS).
• [Apr. 2021] I joined the CSALT lab at LUMS.
• [July. 2019] I represented Pakistan as a member of the national team of six participants at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) held in Bath, United Kingdom.
